| It will be very harder to make the game while learning, its better to start small and work your way up, start with small programs, when you have decent knowledge in C++, you can start to code. | |

| also i have learned the quite a bit of c++, trying to learn how to use opengl, and learning how to use orx i think i am going to stick with this, but i am going to find out how to make myself a mapeditor, just to make the map development process easier, and alot to make the maps faster i will work on drawing them and the gdd which is still a work in progress. And am trying to make a tetris, and work my way up, while i get the basics of this game down, but am having a hard time finding opengl tutiorals. | |

| You won't learn how to use OpenGl if you don't atleast do some reading about OpenGl itself, understand what it does. | |

| I know there is no fast results, i am just trying to learn what i can, since when school starts back i won't have much time to look much of this up except on weekends and afterschool when it starts. And plus i have a wrksheet which is make it hard to practice, since it is a 4 ch wrksht packet(which sucks). | |

| Davidsen, I've estimated mine to get done in 10 years. You have high hopes with only a few months lol.
Challenge one! Do this before continuing: create a compiling, working, bug-free console "rock, paper, scissors" game in your language of choice. Do not continue with your "game" until you do.

| I didn't meant actually only few months, i know it can take years to be finished with an rpg game, but i think your estimation of time, on your game, neotifa, is an exaggeration, there is no way it can take that long(depending on size of project).
and i'll try to work on "rock paper scissors" until im finished.

| and? i already have that set up on my computer because of that xoax tuts for opengl. If you go through the tuts there or on thevideo tuts rock you will see how to set up the glut files and they are pretty nice once you know how to use them, all you have to do is download the files and copy them around to your directories so it is regconized. But since you use dev c++ i will look up a tut for you. I also won't be able to check on anything related to forum motion at school. Stupid school blocked this site! | |

| Don't worry about the graphics libraries, or any external libraries for the time being. Just work on the rock paper scissors. | |

| Well, I am taking 5 classes (15 credits), working 26 hours, pt, homework, etc. I am kinda busy. I'm usually out the door at 0530 and back by 2300, so you can imagine my schedule. Juggling work, school, military, and fluff stuff is kinda hard atm. | |

| I think we should just forget about making an RPG for now, and work on a smaller game(when we have decent C++ skills). | |

| Well i have been working on tetris in c++ and trying to develop a c++ addin for my fav ide #develop, which has one but it needs a little tweaking to get it working, and it is coded in c#. And both are making me and i can't figure out why i get 25 errors with the tetris. Because i got it off of gamedev and it doesn't work. | |
